after being wanted by the corporate hierarchy for accidentally destroying a taikon station, I thought it would be fun to fight against Anton Nasser in Beit Algez... unfortunately he wasn't being a sport and just sat there until I killed him.
Then I went back to Gunsan and saw the horror, I had unleashed upon the galaxy: https://tarbos.adhara.uberspace.de/BWPubq6/Screenshot_20170214_203721.png

At first, of course, I believed it to be a bug... but... is it? Or is it maybe an unfinished hidden story arc? :D
Unfortunately I had already done all missions before Gunsan and don't know whether they split even more.

Anyway... as we all know, any video game monster that is able to split itself after beeing destroyed, splits into smaller versions of itself. So here's what I think should happen:
1. Player ignores Anton until Beit Algez.
2. Player kills Anton.
3. Go back to Gunsan
4. Kill both (smaller) Antons.
5. Iterate back until reaching the first time you saw him.

At every step (starting with Gunsan) the Antons should make increasingly insane broadcasts, starting with something like "Thought you can kill me? You just made me a copy!" - "No, he made *ME* a copy" up to "And now my fellow Antons, it is time to make the universe ours!" - "You mean the Antonverse, Anton!". ( I am sure someone here can make up better goofs).

At that point the player is faced with a decision: stop the Anton collective, or join them.
Stop -> Epic battle and a Halo Gem that gives you a copy of your ship as a wingman.
Join -> Be rewarded with "Antons Auton Armada (TM)" - a group of up to 8 self-replicating mini-Antons, wreaking havoc with their Mark 0.7 Howitzers while annoying the hell out of you with bad jokes.

Or... it might be just a bug...

…I’m pretty sure this is intended as a bug report, not an actual request, in which case it’s either related to or a duplicate of the multiple Anton Nassers in Arc Hecaton ticket I made a ways back…

It also points out that Anton should probably retaliate if attacked.

Awesome! Maybe someone will make a mod.

Sadly, it is just a bug—though a particularly persistent one.

In 1.7 Beta 6, this should no longer happen. Unfortunately, old save files remain infected by the bug. Only games started with Beta 6 will be free of the scourge of multi-Antons.
