One thing I found confusing when I started playing is docking with a Mining station and getting the message "We have another mission for you, if you are interested" even though I had never visited that station before (but had done a mission out of another mining station somewhere else).

It seems like the mining missions are treated as a group in the game, rather than something offered by separate stations. My suggestion is that this message only come up if that particular station has offered a mission before, to avoid confusing new players.
