  • Revamp the Slicer's load-out so it is more interesting/effective/challenging.
  • Slicer should not retreat when shields are down. [Alternatively, we could add code to disable the run-on-shields-down behavior when we hit a wall.]

I suggest some means of punishing the player for charging in with Iocrym armor and killing everyone that way. Also, ships without shields(and ships which drop their shields voluntarily) shouldn't be treated as in danger.

Still. Dropping your shield should have a "showing off" modifier applied.

I'd agree with that. Base the modifier on how weak the player's armor is.

It'd also be interesting to limit weaponry to non - military. Perhaps bringing in a military grade external and mounting it mid - match could get the player a reputation as a 'heel'.

Made the following changes in 1.6 Beta 5:

  • Gladiators in the Arena don't retreat when their shields drop. This alone makes the Slicer more dangerous.
  • I've toned down the shields for various ships (particularly fast ships like the Wolfen). Otherwise it was too easy to end up in stalemates.
  • I've added an option to declare a draw. If the crowd is bored, then the player can dock again and request a draw. No points are awarded, but the opponent gladiator is removed from the list.
