Whenever a medical CSC ends up in the same system as a task force CSC, we should have special joint missions.

Some ideas:

  • Medical CSC is under attack by Ares and needs help from the player until the other CSC can respond.
  • A plague has broken out in the task force CSC and the player must bring medicine from the medical CSC.
  • The task force CSC orders the medical CSC to combine its Centurion defenders into a large attack force against an Ares shipyard. But that leaves the medical CSC defenseless, and the player must help defend it until the operation is done.

Variants on #3 could be centurions are off to defend a nearby settlement from Xenophobes when Xenophobes attack the medical CSC.

Defectors to the Rouge Fleet have sabotaged the medical CSC's weapons systems, and the medical CSC needs to be defended from Rouge Fleet transports assaulting the medical CSC while another group attacks the Task Force CSC and draws off the Centurions from the medical CSC.

Another escort mission type -

A commodore needs escort from the Task Force CSC to the medical CSC, and they cannot spare any Centurions due to Ares/Rouge Fleet action.

Finally, one that might be more complicated but could be helpful to introduce Heretic mechanics -

If a player has found the medical CSC but not the task force CSC, they could get a 2 part missions -

First, the Medical CSC has lost contact with the task force CSC because communication systems have been broken, but now the player must defend the CSC from Ares attack! After that, they could be sent on a mission to find the Task Force CSC and be sent to the last location where they find a log bouy that sends them to a nearby planet, then find another bouy and then get send to the location of the Task Force CSC

Some way of finding a Task Force CSC would be good. It can be very difficult to find them in some games.

Several of these missions could be started from a Commonwealth station by the simple trick of that station saying "Hey! We have a problem! Go to the CSC and tell them we're sick/we're under attack/they're about to be attacked!"
