I saved the Korolov station at Charon system (thanks to an SM&M quad turbolaser +fast +75%). They told me to destroy the Charon Pirate stations, I used a map ROM and found three, one of them the stronghold. I blew them up, went back to the Korolov station, they told me there were two more out there. Only problem: they weren't on my map. I tried using a military map ROM and they still didn't show up, which as far as I'm aware should be impossible.
Scouting around the outer asteroid belt did eventually reveal two stations, but this still qualifies as a bug IMO.
Also, if I may make a request: hand out the Charon map ROM when the Korolov station is successfully defended, please?

Military map ROMs don't work in systems with no Commonwealth stations or dockable ships (like CSCs). They send a different message and aren't used up in this case. An increasing fraction of enemy stations can't be found by regular map ROMs as system level gets higher. (And they never find uncharted stations, like the primary Charon strongholds in other systems with Korolov stations.)
Huh, I thought that the regular map ROMs only stopped being reliable after St. Kat's, though I admit I don't know where I got that idea from. And you're right, the military map ROM didn't work and didn't get used up. I completely failed to notice the altered message.
I guess that means this bug is downgraded to begging for the Charon Pirate map ROM when you save the Korolov station then. :D
