In CC, stations asking the player to transfer to another station can send him back to Tau Ceti. In doing so, they will say that they think he is ready for something "harder", despite the fact that Tau Ceti missions scale to the system level and will thus be just as easy as they would be for a starting player. This could be confusing.

Maybe it should only transfer to higher-level systems? Of course, you could run out of missions if you start too late, but do you really want to backtrack to do trivial missions for mediocre rewards anyway?

I agree. Also, you don't need to transfer to a station to do missions there. You just need to not be transferring to another station.

Part of the problem is that a station is only added to the stationsExhausted list when it creates a transfer mission.

  • Tau Ceti is particularly problematic as the "final" mission is usually the Chimeras & meet Anton mission. So the next transfer mission will send the player back to Tau Ceti even though there are no missions left there.
  • With other stations the player can still exhaust all the missions and move on without setting the stationsExhausted flag if they don't stay to get the transfer mission.

In 1.8 Beta 2 we only give out a transfer if it is to a system of equal or higher level.
