This can happen anywhere, and it can happen if player tries to view cargo hold too. It has crashed for me when I spawn a particular mod weapon then I try to go to cargo hold.

This is caused by bad caching code for the dock screen background. I believe I have fixed this in 1.7 Alpha 2a. Thank you!
