I started my latest game while I was connected to the multiverse. Whenever I am not connected to the multiverse when I start Transcendence the game is not available to load.
Might be related to http://ministry.kronosaur.com/record.hexm?id=294 although I do not experience the same behaviour as described in that post.
Playing on Wine (linux)
I need to think about how to address this. The current behavior is designed for two cases:
- Persistent connection to the Multiverse for tamper-resistance.
- Multiple people using the same computer.
We could deal with this in a couple of ways, in increasing order of difficulty.
- Remove the restriction completely. This would be the easiest to implement.
- If auto-sign in fails because of a lack of connection, we assume that the player is signed in anyway and show their games. This would stop working if the player deliberately signed out.
- We could support some kind of local sign in, using a timed signature.
I regularly play in locations with no internet availability at all, that is how I found out I could not continue my game on my laptop. There is a purpose to the restriction so no need to totally remove it, perhaps the second option might be a good solution.
I have the same "issue" while traveling and not always having internet connection. I solve this using a "travel" game without internet connection and a different game with internet connection.
At least I could play the game without internet connection, and that is an option I would not like to loose in the future...
I have encountered the same issue. There should be a report here on ministery for it.
